Where to begin to give an update on the School of Supernatural Life thus far? We’re five weeks in and we’ve tried, but neither of us can fully put into words what a blessing it is to be a student here under such amazing leadership and with such incredible community. We’re sad to leave every Tuesday afternoon!
These first several weeks have been geared mostly to inner healing – basically equipping us to deal with life’s hurts so we don’t carry around unforgiveness and judgements and ungodly beliefs with us into ministry. We’ve walked through hearing the voice of God (did you know He still speaks today?), repenting of bitter root judgements, forgiving ourselves and others, and learning how to soak in the loving Presence of our Papa God.
If you’re interested in any of those topics for yourself (cuz who hasn’t been hurt by life in one way or another?), we are currently working through Finding Father, a 12-week study guide written by one of our very own young adult pastors and SOSL co-founder, AJ Jones! The book Surprised by the Voice of God (by Jack Deere) was also recommended for further reading. I’ve borrowed it from a friend and only two chapters in I’m hooked. It’s fascinating! Another opportunity is a weekend retreat offered by our church, Grace Center, called an Encounter weekend. The next one happens November 9-11 and you can get more information and sign up online.
We’ve also started serving on different ministry teams for Sunday morning church services and our young adult service, emanate. Thus far we’ve been a part of the prayer ministry team, the prophetic team, and have served as volunteers in children’s church.
If you’re reading this, Drew and I want you to know that we love you and we are so grateful for the family and friends in our lives. It truly is an honor to be able to attend a school like this and we are thankful for each person that prays for us, encourages us, and supports us. And we don’t say that just to see if we can get more money out of you. In all honesty, we would much rather you not give anything at all if God doesn’t put it on your heart to do so. You might be giving to other people right now or it may be a season of giving in other non-monetary ways for you. And that’s totally ok! But if you are looking for a worthy investment or just a way to practice being generous, we would be honored to accept some financial help.
Here’s the breakdown — we have two more payments left for the school (November 5 & January 7) of $1900 each. A $500 outreach trip deposit is also due by January 7. This means we have 2 1/2 weeks to raise $1900.
Click here to donate if you wish! You can choose either Drew or Lori Winter from the drop down menu on the donation page. Our accounts are linked since we received the married couples discount.
