What a shameless pun. <Shakes head and sighs with resignation at the inheritance of her Dad’s corny sense of humor>
So, yes, if you were wondering, we did see seals in Kaikoura! After a picnic at South Point, we walked across the entire peninsula, stopping once on the way to inspect this lone seal, who was later joined by a friend from the water.
It was a beautiful sunny afternoon for a stroll. Once we got to Kean Point on the north side of the peninsula, we debated walking all the way down since the afternoon would be turning into evening sooner rather than later and we had a 45 minute return walk. But from a distance, I saw seals.
Lots and lots of seals.
And when I saw seals sitting on the sidewalk, I took off running to get some pictures!
Imagine my surprise when I whipped out the camera to get a shot and found the battery completely dead. So, we have no pictures of the seals at Kean Point, but we put together a little video for you.
Perhaps on our way back to Cheviot in a month we will stop here again with a fully charged camera battery 🙂
