If your only source for information on politics is the news on television, you’ve probably not heard much about Ron Paul as a viable candidate for the Republican GOP and Presidency. Network news (and other media outlets controlled by big money) have largely ignored Ron Paul, even though he is winning straw poll after straw poll and coming in second and third in the vote in many states. We just wanted to take a a moment to share why thousands upon thousands of people have joined the grassroots movement to support Ron Paul and support liberty.
Ron Paul: Liberty 101
The basis for everything Ron Paul advocates is liberty. He writes in his most recent book, Liberty Defined, that “to believe in liberty is not to believe in any particular social and economic outcome. It is to trust in the spontaneous order that emerges when the state does not intervene in human volition and human cooperation. It permits people to work out their problems for themselves, build lives for themselves, take risks and accept responsibility for the results, and make their own decisions. It is the seed of America.”
Basically, we have certain inalienable rights (sound familiar?) that we should be allowed to exercise, as long as they don’t infringe on another person’s inalienable rights.
This video does a great job explaining liberty and how it plays out in everyday life. Can we recognize tyranny when it is sold to us disguised as a form of liberty?
Hot Button Issues
Two big hot button issues these days are the economy and foreign policy. Here’s just a snippet of why we stand behind Ron Paul and the principles of liberty:
The Economy: Surely you know what kind of collassol debt America is in right now. Why are spending money (and printing money) we don’t have?? Hello politicians – didn’t your dad teach you sound money principles whilst listening to Dave Ramsey’s radio show in the car?? Clearly not. Ron Paul proposes regulatory relief, real spending cuts, and a balanced budget. This would come in the form of cutting 1 TRILLION dollars in government spending, cutting taxes, and taking a salary of $39,336, approximately equal to the median personal income of the American worker (instead of the typical $400,000 Presidential salary).
“There are only two ways to conquer and enslave a nation. One is by sword, the other is by debt.” – John Adams
Foreign Policy: This is probably the area where you’ve heard crazy (and incorrect) things about Ron Paul. His foreign policy is not isolationism, but a non-interventionist foreign policy of peace and prosperity. We don’t have the money in our national budget to go around policing the world and fighting in endless non-declared wars. As President, Ron Paul would secure our borders at home, repeal the Patriot Act, only wage wars that have been declared by Congress and have clear objectives, avoid long & expensive land wars and nation building, and stop transferring wealth from Americans to rich dictators and the military-industrial complex through foreign aid.
Oh, and ps – did you know that Ron Paul has received more financial support from active-duty military personnel than either Obama or ALL of the other Republican candidates combined?

We Will Stand for What we Believe
Regardless of your opinion about Dr. Paul as an electable candidate, we believe he CAN win and we will stand behind the principles he supports. Did you know that if everyone who said ‘I like Ron Paul, but he can’t win’ actually voted for him, he would win?!
Which also begs the question – If you like Ron Paul and believe in the principles of liberty that he stands for, why are you supporting another candidate who clearly does not represent those same ideals? For us, it all boils down to this:
“There may be times when we are powerless to prevent injustice, but there must never be a time when we fail to protest.” Elie Wiesel
We will stand for what we believe, no matter if it’s unpopular, seems crazy, or seems like it can’t win. In our opinion, anything else is just selling out.
And we don’t want to sell out.
Join the movement! Consider voting for Ron Paul or settling for the status quo.
