After 13 months of living out of a suitcase and sleeping in random beds every other week, we are finally moving back into a place of our own! We found a great house to rent in West Nashville and will move in this Friday. We’ve been collecting our belongings from the attics and basements where they have been stored, ready to unpack and settle in to this next season of life.

Our massive backyard lends itself very nicely to a garden where we can put into practice everything we learned in New Zealand about composting, permaculture, and chickens!

We were scheduled to move in today, which is exactly one year from the day we boarded the plane on our big adventure (how cool would that have been?!), but the remodeling at the house hasn’t been completed yet.

Alas! I’d prefer to actually have a toilet in the master bathroom and a heating unit that actually works, so we’ll gladly wait. We’ll post more pictures when we have them!
