Twice during our stay on the North Shore we drug ourselves out of bed to catch pictures of the sunrise over the ocean. The first time we walked to Winstone’s Cove, where we were greeted with stunning pinks and purples in the sky.
Our second sunrise was unfortunately cloudy, and not exactly as stunning. But as we climbed back into our new car to head back home, an old song that I hadn’t heard in years came on the radio. It made me remember that waking up at the crack of dawn to see the sun rise is usually worth it.
Ten Shekel Shirt said it quite well:
There’s something about the ocean
Makes me rise up and praise.
There’s something about the heavens
Makes me stand in awe again.
There’s something about the sunrise
Reminds me of Your faithfulness
There’s something about the ocean
And I’m lost in love again.
