The sun meandered behind and before the clouds as it set into the water. We were chilly one moment, then basking in the warm glow of the sun the next. The dark sand was silky under our feet as we walked toward the water.
Blankets spread, out came our books, Bibles, journals, and snacks.
West coast beaches are famous for their waves–perfect for surfing. They truly were massive, and the tide dangerously strong. Even standing knee deep in the water we could feel the force of its pull.
And the water was very chilly! Wetsuits are a must if you want to be in the water for any length of time. Unfortunately, those wouldn’t exactly fit in our backpacks (not that we own any in the first place…)
So for now we will have to be content with gazing over the water line and breathing in the ocean air. I think we can handle it 😉
